Ephesus is the first listed among the seven churches of Asia in Revelation 2. Jesus commends them for their toil and perseverance and their care in not allowing false teachers to lead them astray. He condemns them, however, for leaving their first love and thus not serving as they had done earlier. He urges them to repent and do their first works or else he will "remove their lampstand," which means they will cease to exist as a church. Imagine a church where Paul had spent over two years in ministry and a church where the apostle John had been. Yet, their love was growing cold.Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works (Revelation 2:5a)
Coming May 2012, for Kindle and in paperback edition, “The Love You Had At First.” This book is part one of a three part book series on personal renewal. The second, scheduled for release in late summer titled, “A Little Bit of Egypt” deals with the areas of compromise in the Christian life that hinder our walk with the Lord. The final in the series is titled, “Ten Keys To Total Victory” and is a book of practical biblical things a believer can do to help facilitate victory over sin. Scheduled for release in the fall of 2012.
